This article stuck out to me because as a member of a military family, I agree the support for our veterans should increase greatly. I think the writer did very well talking about veterans of all ages facing hardships such as eviction or PTSD. What could’ve helped the writer was to maybe include ways the public can help veterans more specifically, rather than just asking if they had time or money to help because the writer’s intentions are to help the veterans. The writer’s voice was sympathetic and warm hearted. This piece is unique because I don’t see many articles talking about what our veterans go through daily and how many of them need our help.
I like this article because it gives you that harsh reality that makes you think about what you could do to better the world rather than just yourself. I think this writer did well referring to things many people feel such as being upset about themselves or feeling greed, making people realize there’s more to the world than themselves. What the writer could have done better is talk about specific things the world needs help with; such as homelessness. This writer’s voice was slightly harsh, but wants to make a change. I would say this piece is unique because I don’t find many articles that mention to put away the politics and do some good.
